Laying claim to the title of highest Irish bar in the world, Wild Rover is without doubt famous for its sociable environment and crazy party scene. The hostel hosts fun activities every night, remaining opened until 2am, after which guests are directed to one of La Paz’s late-night clubs. For those looking to line their stomachs before a night of shenanigans, there is a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu on offer as well as nightly drink specials and an all day hangover menu which includes curry chips, Aussie fries, full Irish breakfast and English tea.
Wild Rover has many room types to chose from, including small and large dorms, matrimonial rooms with private bathroom, twin rooms and girls-only dorms. Shared bathrooms are kept clean and hot water is available 24 hours.
Whilst rooms are generally clean and comfortable, those near the bar area can be quite noisy. If you don’t plan on staying up all night, it’s advisable to request a room in the back courtyard.
Common areas in the hostel include a cozy TV room with DVDs and cable TV and two sunny courtyards where guests can chat to fellow travelers, chill out with a book, enjoy a basic but free breakfast and use the free WiFi, available throughout most of the hostel.
Guests in the hostel can rest assured their belongings remain safe, with backpack lockers available in each rooms as well as 24 hour security guards and CCTV. Also on offer is free luggage storage, same day laundry service, 1pm check out and a travel agency.
